Due to liability concerns, the industry is worried that current pocket former designs could allow the anchoring nails to rust. This could eventually lead to the corrosion of the anchor, which secures the cable, thus causing the slab itself to weaken.
Paragon Products' Pocket Former (part # 1202-216), is designed to encompass those nails around the cable where they meet the form. Our larger, "open-style" cavity allows for the nails to simply be bent inward and then patched over with grout, eliminating the chance for rusting.
Additionally, this design allows increased access for the saw when cutting the strand.
